What are the major themes in digital art and why?

Artificial life is one of the major themes in digital art. It is an idea that has been explored for centuries. The relationship between human and machine is facilitating. According to Licklider, the main aims of this symbolic are to let computers facilitate. formulation thinking and enable man to cooperate with computers on making decisions in complex situations. In this theme aesthetics becomes a very important factor where it plays a role as to the survival of the fittest, in the artificial life projects by Karl Sims or Austrian artist Christa Sommerer. Artificial life not only helps us construct ideas but they may change the ways we think. Another major theme in digital art is telepresence, telematics and telerobotics. Telecommunication art has decades of history. Artists long used devices ranging from fax, phone, satellite etc. While telepresence is an old concept, digital technologies have allowed for unprecedented possibilities of being present in various location at once. Example is the internet, which is present all over the world. This is made possible by telerobotics, the manipulation of a robot or robotic installation over the internet. These themes are very vital in digital art, because they are all connected in one way or another. Without one you would not have the other.
